The ELA department welcomes you to the new school year! We are excited to get to know our students and prepare for their future success. As we embark on this journey,  the ELA department would like to leave you with a quote:

“Let us remember: one book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.”

This quote comes from Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani female education activist and the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. By age 11, she was already advocating for girls to get an education in her homeland, which restricts female education. It was so important that she risked her life to do it.

This quote conveys the power of education. As we begin this 24/25 school year, let this be our guiding principle. The ELA department will be tasked with guiding our students to change the world through opportunities to develop a love and enthusiasm for reading.
